Stripe lights in rooftop tent - adhesive question

We ended up and just buying a iKamper to replace the last one. I'm trying to set stripe lights with the adhesive back, but they keep falling off. What is the best tape or glue to use that won't peel off?

Hot glue is your friend

Some double sided 3M tape should do the trick. It has been holding up my number plates through river and mud without issues

Use brake cleaner on the surface you want the tape to stick too.

I would tape off the area you want stick the lights to, and then scuff it up with some light grit sandpaper. Then use the brake cleaner, then hot glue or the adhesive if it has.
