Solar panel still works with deep scratch?

I just noticed that one of my solar panels has a deep scratch running through it about 14". Will the panel still work or is this thing toast? If toast, can these things be repaired?

Repaired no. There is a good clear coating on top. I would test it. Depending on the panel, its either not effected, has reduced output or junk.

100% agree with smritte, it all depends on the quality of the panel you have

More reason to have a high quality panel. They are designed that if one zone is damaged, to keep on working.
