Is Bass Pro and REI the last of the overland brick and mortar stores still in existence?

Backcountry is one. I mean honestly, I buy nearly 100% of all my stuff from Amazon or direct with the companies that make what I'm after.

True, but we have Bass Pro next town over, although really don't go to either. Pretty much buy everything direct or from Amazon.

Even back in the day, there weren't many others than what you have listed. Sure you can go into Walmart, which does have decent amount of camping gear. Like others though, I get most of my gear online as well.

The problem with physical stores is that they have overhead to deal with that Amazon and other online retailers don't have. So prices will always be higher in these places.

Yep, more reason to find ways to support them before they are all gone
