How to prevent food from sticking to cast iron pots?

When ever we cool in our larger cast iron pots, food sticks horribly to the sides. Then comes the added bonus of trying to clean it well in the field. May I ask if you have any tips or suggestions on cooking with cast iron please?

Put a large piece of parchment paper in the bowl

How are you attaching it to the pot though?

All you need to do is fold it over the sides a little, once you have the heavy top on that, it will keep it in place.

PAM the heck out of it. I carry a can in my rig for these sort of occassions.
