Does lifting your truck make it handle worse?

I get that the center of gravity goes up, but some I have spoken to say lifting a truck can make it handle better. But I'm guessing this is up to a certain point. After that, things get questionable. Right?

I've not lifted any of my trucks before, but thinking about doing now to get more clearance for getting offroad and camping.

Your center of gravity is going up, so that isn't a good thing. But if you get a quality lift kit, and don't go crazy, it's going to be acceptable.
