Are remote reservoir shocks worth the additional cost?

For normal off roading not really. The do make a difference when driving fas on dirt roads or when driving on dirt roads for many hours. If you are in Australia it may be worth having a look into them as it is hot over there and you have plenty of miles of dirt roads
 
if tou are covering long distance at. fast speed on dirt roads I would say they are worth it. If not then not so much. Normal good quality shocks will also cope with the dirt roads though. Just not as good
