SNO Trailers Alpine Review

I’ve spent a lot of time recently at the SNO Trailers headquarters here in Southern California, and I also had some time to hang out with the SNO Trailers folks at the Overland West Expo.

During that time, I’ve gotten to know the SNO Trailers Alpine well, and as time goes on, I am more and more impressed with it!

As I discuss in the video above, SNO Trailers Alpine takes inspiration from some of the best off-road trailers on the market. It combines that inspiration with some truly unique features that make it a high-quality trailer for overlanding and off-roading. Find out how in this SNO Trailers Alpine review!

What is SNO Trailers?

sno trailers alpine side profile

SNO Trailers is a family-owned and operated business in Southern California whose mission is to provide its customers with the highest-quality product at a competitive price. With trailers that are rugged and stylish, innovative and functional, SNO Trailers can accommodate virtually any need for your overlanding and off-roading adventures.

The company was borne out of the fact that there was nothing quite like it on the market. In fact, the founders of SNO Trailers created their initial designs on a piece of paper after looking for a trailer to fit their needs and not finding anything.

Today, SNO Trailers follows the motto “Enjoy life, adventure more.” And from what I’ve seen with the Alpine trailer, you can do just that with one of these bad boys behind your vehicle!

SNO Trailers Alpine Review: Basic Specs

At just over 12 feet long from the hitch to the spare tire, the SNO Trailers Alpine is a compact trailer that’s supremely easy to tow. That’s especially true given that its dry weight is just 1,500 pounds, and is just 6’3″ wide!

The SNO Trailers Alpine offers a wide range of standard features, making it an excellent value. The trailer is built on a Fabtech fully-integrated suspension with shocks and brakes. The Max Coupler Hitch and 17-inch method wheels with 275/70/R17 all-terrain tires give the trailer the grip it needs whether you’re traveling on-road or off.

The trailer rides on a powder-coated steel frame with a proprietary anti-rust base coating for the ultimate in durability. The aluminum body is both strong and lightweight, while the spare tire rack with RotopaX Mounts and a premium roof rack with integrated Prinsu accessory mounts give you plenty of storage. There’s even a utility box with an integrated design that’s perfect for storing your recovery boards!

On the electronics front, the SNO Trailers Alpine comes standard with a 100ah Renogy AGM battery and battery monitor. You also get a Renogy waterproof solar charge controller, a solar plug, and switch-pros panels. Add a NOCO Genius Battery Charger, an on/off battery switch, and a protective electronics cover to the mix as well!

The SNO Trailers Alpine has plenty of fluids storage, too. The trailer can accommodate varying sized water tanks. You also get a Joolca HOTTAP essentials kit. The two 10-pound propane tank holders ensure you have enough gas for an extended off-grid trip.

The kitchen and living area of this trailer offers plenty of features to improve the functionality and comfort of the trailer. For example, there’s a fixed storage tray, integrated Molle panels on the side doors, and a stainless steel kitchen pullout. You can add up to a 75L powered cooler or fridge/freezer if you like.

The wide-body kit gives you two side boxes that enhance the Alpine’s storage. The first side box has three internal drawers, two dividers, a stainless-steel surface, a USB port, and a switch-pros panel. The second box offers much the same, minus the internal drawers and dividers, making this box ideal for bulkier items.

SNO Trailers Alpine Optional Features

SNO Trailers accommodates your specific needs by offering a laundry list of optional features you can add to the Alpine trailer.

In the kitchen, for example, you can add a stainless-steel sink and a Dometic stove, plus a cooler or fridge/freezer. In the back, you can add a rear pullout with a slide for increased storage. Upgraded electronics are available, too, including a second battery, solar panels, or an inverter.

Additionally, SNO Trailers allows you to add all sorts of mounts for RotoPaX, MAXTRAX, a shower, or an awning. You can add a large awning to give you loads of protected space for hanging out, cooking dinner, or just kicking back with a cold beverage. Throw a tent up top for a comfortable space to sleep while you’re at it!

SNO Trailers Alpine Review: Why This Trailer is Unique

sno trailers alpine kitchen close up

What makes the SNO Trailers Alpine so unique is its open floor plan. The SNO Trailers team did a fantastic job designing this trailer to be functional for your overlanding and off-roading needs.

But what does “open floor plan” mean?

For starters, the kitchen prep area, sink, stove, and refrigerator are all located next to one another, that way, meal prep can be done quickly and efficiently without having to walk to another area of the trailer to get something you need.

Secondly, you can access any area of the kitchen or living area without having to move around any barriers. Unlike other trailers with a rear swinging tailgate or spare tire rack, the SNO Trailers Alpine gives you free movement from one side of the trailer to the other. What’s more, there are no moving racks to access the storage compartments.

On paper, this open floor plan seems like a great idea – and it is. But you just can’t appreciate how awesome it is unless you see the trailer in person. It really is a fantastic design that makes using the trailer and enjoying your time in the great outdoors that much better.

The private areas of the trailer – the bathroom and shower space and the tent and annex areas – are all near one another. So, when you’re sound asleep, and nature calls in the middle of the night, you can easily move from the tent to the bathroom area. This design also offers more privacy for using the restroom or taking a shower.

You can see the unique functionality of this trailer in the small details, too. A great example of this is that there are lighting controls on both sides of the trailer.

Of course, the storage this trailer offers is unique, too. On the one hand, the Alpine trailer incorporates an incredible level of storage. On the other hand, it’s functional storage that makes using the trailer all the easier.

For example, the SNO Trailers Alpine features a kitchen pullout with built-in drawers that makes it easy to store a lot of kitchen items but do so in an organized fashion. The fixed storage compartment above the kitchen pullout gives you even more space for your kitchen necessities.

The utility box not only uses the trailer’s control panel, but there’s also space for two batteries with room to spare for your recovery gear. Both side doors have Molle panels so you can attach all sorts of accessories in a convenient space. And you can store hard or soft storage containers in each side box to maximize space and keep your gear neatly organized.

In other words, the folks at SNO Trailers really seem to have thought of everything with this trailer. It’s extraordinarily functional, compact and lightweight, and rugged enough to follow your vehicle on any road or trail you find.

SNO Trailers Alpine Pricing
