Would you let someone borrow your overland rig?

So, I had a first time question aimed at me today. My neighbor came up and asked if he could borrow (then he said "rent") my truck for a weekend to head out with his son camping. I found this to be a strange an awkward question to ask someone and I felt on the spot. Told him no. And he seemed a little surprised by my answer as well.

Seriously who asks to borrow something like this? What would you have said?

It depends, there are a couple of people I would certainly trust with my truck. However, I would not give it to anyone else even if they were to payed me. So, I think you reply was correct.

No, I don't think so. Maybe some very close friends. It is full of stuff that you need to know how to use and the time and effort that has went into building it isn't something I would risk renting to someone who might not know how to use everything
