Winterizing overland trailer?

I've started to shop around for an overland trailer, and while winter is still far from us. I want to be aware of what I can do to winterize an overland trailer. If it can be done rather. I have noticed some have water tanks under the frame, others have tanks on the roof, and others have the tanks stuffed inside the trailers. Inside I'm guessing might be protected, what about the exterior mounts?

Just trying to think about this as I shop for one.
