Why do Jeep owners do this?

Watched video from another thread which lead me to this one. Why do stock Jeep owners put themselves in spots like this?

Factory locked vehicle and no experience.
Over two decades of working 4wd events, things like that don't surprise me. I really wish I had pictures of all the dumb things I've seen.

A jeep with an angry grill was behind me today with a dash full of ducks. Personally I just never understood these.
