Which time of year do you prefer to overland in? Summer or winter?

I am kind of a winter person. Where I live summers are just horribly warm and camping is only possible after 5PM and on the high mountains if you have now way to get some cold air from an AC system.

I also love the mud and snow that come with winter! It makes the whole experience much more fun.

What about you guys?

Winter with the correct gear. A diesel heater and a camp fire can make camping in winter an absolute blast. No people around, no annoying insects no sweating, no dust, and camp fires are allowed.

Also, off roading is much more exciting due to the mud!

I will say summer as more trails are accessible. There are many beautiful mountain passes that are closed during this time of year!
