Where does your dog sleep while camping?

Our dog is way to big for our roof top tent, although he has been up there. But my back is screwed up and I can't carry him up there now. Gotta bring him though. I don't want to leave him roped up for obvious reasons and not in the cab of the truck.

What options?

You know they have special ramps for dogs to get up in roof top tents. We have a small dog so not an issue for us. But thought I would share this

That will only work on a tent that doesn't use the ladder to support the side of the tent.

I guess you could use one of those stair systems in the front or rear window, otherwise that will get in the way of the primary ladder for you to get into the tent. For me that would become old really fast. Just use this on the rear window now that I'm thinking about layout.

OMG if we didn't keep our 'Sam' (Golden Retriever) with us in our tent, he would be howling all night!

Hmmmm I would pick up one of these ramps and just go through one of the side windows. Which roof top tent do you have?

Benefit I guess of having a van, everyone sleeps inside. We do have friends that managed to put roof top tents on the top of their vans, and it's HIGH up in the air. Now both of these have kids that sleep up on top and for them it's like a fort. Personally way to high. I can't even imagine trying to get a pet up on top.
