Waterport 3.8 gallon tank

Curious for those of you that have one of these or similar. Are you emptying it after every trip? If you don't will the water grow bacteria if left in container for a certain amount of time?

There are pills you can add in there that will extend use of the water and prevent anything bio growing in there.
