I am thinking of buy a van but can only find 2wd ones.

Hey adventure lovers. I am in the market for an overlanding van but I can only seem to find 2wd ones in the 2nd hand market. I will keep my gwagon for the tough trails so the van will only see the odd dirt road. Do I really need 4wd for such use? I would say no

I would agree, you might not need the 4wd for this type of use

for the easy stuff a 2wd will have no issues
