How do you justify the money and time you spend on this hobby to your family?

My family is understanding of my passion for this so I do not need to explain anything. They also tend to come with me on a few trips
 
I have explained to them that this makes me happy and is a great way for me to relax. They do understand but I try not to overdo it with the money I spend and the time I put into this activity
