Does anyone have experience with forced induction on an N/A OM617 Mercedes engine?

I used to have a W123 that I strapped a turbo on. It didn't last long. Then I swapped the engine to a factory turbo one and lasted for many years. The factory turbo ones are much stronger when it comes to boost. obviously
