Daylodge AirHaven 40 inflatable awning review

My brother who was at the West expo last month saw an inflatable awning from this company called Daylodge. I'm on their site and this Airhaven 40 looks pretty interesting. Neither of us found much of anything out there in terms of reviews. Well I take that back, there was one article we found then the rest was just on Daylodge website.

So putting aside the lack of reviews on the Airhaven 40. This being inflatable is what we both found interesting.

Questions on this:

1. how is this fastened to your truck or SUV?
2. will it hold up to any serious wind?
3. longevity of this sort of awning?
4. how long does it take to blow up?

That's it for now. $700 bucks is a decent amount of green so want to make sure about this.

Hmmmmm, so from what I can gather is you inflate this and strap it to where ever you can on your truck. Not sure what you do if you don’t have roof rack though. I think wind wise will depend on where you have it strapped down and the angle of that anchor. Funny, I was at West and didn’t see this company.

Found this video, but look at the support arm heading down, this looks like it's designed for use on Sprinter vans and such.

First let me start by saying that I really dig the idea of this. However considering you can get a quality full size 270 awning for about the same money, I would need to learn a lot more about what makes this unique. I see the the big win for those that don't want an awning stuck to their vehicles all the time. Can you put walls on these? That could add more perceived value.

Yep, and what if it rains, will that pool up in the center of that and sag and collapse the center??

Actually that is a good point. That could spell issues with that caving in. Unless you tilt the end so it's declining enough that all of the water runs off.

My first thought was exactly that. This thing cost more than my 270, which happens to be a very good awning.

I can see the value that they are going after. The problem for me like some of the others is getting arms around some important questions in terms of how this awning behaves in certain situations: wind and rain for example. What is the set up time and how flexible is that? Awnings are typically anchored down to roof racks, is there any special requirements needed for this to work?

Well it does fold up small, I would use on our Subaru but the problem is the height would be to low.

Yeah, he went with another awning. Just not enough out there on these, plus all the other concerns were snuffed with user reviews. thanks everyone!
