Campfire options when fire ban?

Are there any fire pits that burn wood that are legal when there is a fire ban? Meaning something that still burns wood, but contains the fire and is considered OK to use?

Not that I'm aware of. Fire ban usually means no wood burned at all. We use propane fire pit.
