Enough is enough. Time to get some different for my straps. So annoyed. #harborfreightishorrible
 
Inexpensive bungees that are made from rubber are the problem, actually a ticking time bomb. It's not 'if' they will break, they will and what stored energy they have left will either smack what is around them making an audible noise, or they will break while you are driving and you may not know till it's to late. Either way bad news. My wife got me some bungees two Christmases ago and these are not made from rubber, but something else, they have holes through them so you can hook easy. I just can't think of the brand. When I get home this evening I'll post the brand, but these things are super strong and work awesome.
 
We'll be thankful it wasn't cold out. This could have been a lot worse if the weather was cold. That's the problem with most bungees, they are unpredictable and can break at any point.
 
I've had a number of break while driving and it snaps against my truck. Fabric ones don't snap, but they just lose their elasticity.
 
Good post, and good timing. Just ordered some as that is exactly what I needed! Someone stole my tool back this weekend that had all my cords and hand tools. :(
 
Check out “modl” bungee system. Saw these guys up at PNW last month. They have an infinity straps that are amazing.
