Bears and Freeze Dried foods

In sealed (new) freeze dried foods, like from Mountain House and Peak Refuel, if left out, will bears be attracted to these?

I'm sure if you fed the bears back pack food they wouldn't turn it down. Kidding

I have been told that bears identify most "packages" they see with "people snacks" and anything cube shaped with ice chest.
Err on the side of caution. Hide everything. I doubt they could smell it. make them not see it.

OK, so still hang it up or OK to hid in truck. Makes you wonder if a bear could get into a can of chilli? :ROFLMAO:

From what I've seen posted in ranger stations, in the vehicle as long as they cant see it or anything that looks like an ice chest. When I camped in bear area's, anything that didn't smell but could be seen as a food container (ice chest full of drinks), I threw a brown shipping blanket over. It now looks like a pile of dirt. The other food was in the vehicle. Ive had bear tracks in camp a number of times without issue. Cant say the same for people camped near me. In reality, I have had more issues with racoons then bears.

I read something the other day. It was a question to a park ranger from a tourist. "why cant you make bear proof trash cans?" The answer was. "there's a strong overlap between the smartest bear and the dumbest human".

I guess bear proof means stupid people proof.
