Aluminum body Jeep Wrangler??

Jeeps have always struggled with good MPGs right? When did Jeep move to aluminum body panels? I would have thought this would have lightened up the weight big time. How are these so heavy compared to other trucks in the same class?

Frame is where the weight hits the Jeeps. I want to say they moved to aluminum bodies back in 2017
