Ford Will Soon Offer an F-150 Supercharger

F-150Last week’s SEMA show gave us all kinds of goodies to look forward to, like the Tundra Desert Chase we reported on yesterday.

But Ford had a bit of news for F-150 fans – the F-150 supercharger kit it announced will be available at some point in the near future.

What Does this F-150 Supercharger Do?

Though pricing and availability haven’t yet been confirmed by Ford, what we do know is that the supercharger was developed specifically for Ford’s 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine. That engine has cylinder deactivation technology, so a whole new supercharger had to be developed specifically for the Coyote.

Again, Ford hasn’t released specific numbers on the F-150 supercharger yet, but rumor has it that this thing will increase a stock F-150’s power to 700 horses and 590 lb-ft. of torque.

With all that extra power, your 2021 F-150 can hit 60 mph in less than five seconds. That’s not bad at all for a full-sized half-ton truck.

The stock Coyote engine offers 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft. of torque, so this F-150 supercharger definitely kicks the power up a few notches. It does so with a Whipple supercharger, an air inlet hose, and an intercooler, all of which are part of the package.

It should also be noted that Ford Authority is reporting that the supercharger will have a three-year, 30,000-mile warranty. And since this is a Ford product, having it installed in your F-150 will not void the warranty. And, just in case you’re wondering, installing this F-150 supercharger is completely legal in all 50 states, so have at it!
