Denali Campers Review: A Host of Standard Features
The Denali Campers XTR-10 is designed with adventure in mind, offering a range of standard features that make it the perfect off-road companion. Its all-composite cabin is not only lightweight but built for durability, with a sleek, innovative design that ensure every journey is comfortable.
Up front, the aluminum storage box houses advanced Redarc Electronics, while the aluminum top storage rack comes equipped with integrated solar panels to keep you powered up no matter where you roam.
The XTR-10 is ready to tackle the toughest terrain with its hot-dipped galvanized steel frame. The 2×4” tube steel is CNC cut to ensure the most accurate fit. The trailer’s Cruisemaster CRS2 3500-pound suspension, Cruisemaster DO35 articulating hitch coupler, and 17-inch black aluminum Method racing wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich LT275/65/R17 E mud tires ensures the trailer offers a smooth ride and the capability of handling the rough stuff.
The Standard Features Just Keep Coming
Other standard chassis-related features common to the Trail and Pro series XTR-10 trailers include the following:
- Full matching spare tire with custom swinging mount.
- Ark XO750 extreme off-road tongue jack
- Ark 30″ XO black corner stabilizing jacks
- 7-pin RV plug with break-away box/battery
- 2″ rear receiver hitch
- Electric brakes and manual hand parking brake
Both XTR-10 models offer plenty of exterior storage, too. Up front is an aluminum tongue box with a compartment for the trailer’s battery and electronics components. Above that is a storage rack with tie-down points that’s perfect for storing frequently used items that can get wet and dirty, like recovery gear.
The trailer comes standard with an aluminum roof rack, too. The rack has four T-slot crossmembers for adding accessories like a bike rack or rooftop tent.
These Trailers Have Robust Electrical Components
The Trail Series and Pro Series XTR-10 trailers have a laundry list of standard electrical features as well. For example, each trailer has a Redarc TVMS distribution box and a heated Epoch lithium battery with Bluetooth capabilities. You’ll find 12-volt, USB, and 110-volt outlets inside the trailer and in the galley, along with interior and exterior LED lighting.
Furthermore, Denali Campers provides a roof-mounted Renogy 100-watt solar charging system, a Redarc 12-volt pure sine wave inverter charger, and a Redvision display unit with Bluetooth control.
A Compact Trailer With a Significant Galley Space
XTR-10 Pro Series Galley
At the back of the XTR-10 is a galley area that offers many different possibilities depending on the series of trailer you go for. I’ll get into the specifics of each trailer’s galley in a moment, but for now, just know that Denali Campers includes a large rear-swinging galley door on both XTR-10 models that gives you easy access to the kitchen area and its PVC cabinet storage system.
The Interior of the XTR-10 is Very Good
Inside, the Denali Campers trailers offer a spacious interior where you can stretch out and relax after a long day of exploring. Both the Trail Series and Pro series offer amenities like R9 fiberglass composite insulated walls, an R9-rated insulated roof, and a woodgrain fiberglass composite insulated floor that’s also rated to R9.
Additionally, the XTR-10 comes standard with two entry doors, both with a triple deadbolt lock. You can let light and fresh air in through the windows on each door and the two double-pane acrylic windows in the trailer. All windows are screened and come with blackout shades.
You can kick back and relax on a queen-sized tri-fold memory foam mattress, turn on the MaxxFan Deluxe fan to bring fresh air into the cabin, and keep all your clothes and other gear out of the way in the PVC cabin storage.
The Trail Series and Pro Series trailers also share the same dimensions:
- 85 inches tall
- 90 inches wide
- 46 inches of interior headroom
- 60.5-inch interior width
- 88-inch head-to-toe cabin length
Both trailers also offer 21 inches of ground clearance.
So, the verdict thus far in my Denali Campers review is that the XTR-10 is absolutely jam-packed with standard features. In fact, this trailer has more standard features than many other trailers have between their standard and optional features combined. That’s what makes Denali Campers so impressive – you don’t have to go for the top-of-the-line model to get a well-equipped, beautifully built trailer that you can take virtually anywhere.
Denali Campers Review: Your Choice of Two
Denali Campers Trail Series
The next phase of my Denali Campers review switches gears from exploring the standard features common to the XTR-10 Trail Series and Pro Series to examining the differences between the two.
While the Trail Series is well-equipped, the Pro Series levels up a bit with additional standard features that make it an even more robust off-road, off-grid camper. The chart below highlights some of the key differences between the two series:
But where the Trail Series and Pro Series most significantly diverge is in the galley…
As noted earlier, both models come with a large rear-swinging door and a PVC cabinet storage system. If you opt for the Trail Series model, this leaves you with ample opportunities to customize the space for your specific needs and add your own galley-related gear, like your cooler or fridge of choice.
Denali Campers Pro Series
But with the Pro Series, you get a galley loaded with every feature imaginable, like a stainless steel sink with a cutting board top, an onboard water pump, and a 38-gallon water tank with a skid plate to protect it from rough trails. Likewise, the Pro Series has a Dometic 75L dual-zone 12-volt cooler, a portable two-burner cooktop system with a storage compartment, and an 11-pound propane tank and mount. Heck, there’s even an integrated folding table on the rear swinging door and shower components so you can take a hot shower after a day of exploring. Talk about the ultimate setup!
Options for Making the Denali Campers XTR-10 Even Better
As well-equipped as these trailers are, Denali Campers gives you plenty of options for adding options to enhance the performance and functionality of your rig.
For example, you can add a 12-volt low-profile air conditioner to keep cool in the warmer months. You can also add additional batteries to the mix to enhance the electrical system. An optional 400-watt portable solar panel system (shown above) is also available.
If you need some shade, Denali Campers offers various rack-mounted awnings. You can even opt for a 270-degree awning that covers the side and rear of the trailer for added space to hang out, even in inclement weather.
But best of all, Denali Campers understands that not everyone needs the same gear on their trailer. That’s why they’re all ears when it comes to your customization ideas. If there’s something specific you’d like on your trailer that they don’t already offer, let the Denali Campers team know, and they’ll see about making it happen. Talk about service!
Denali Campers Review Final Verdict
By now, I think you have a good idea of what Denali Campers is all about. This is a company dedicated to designing and building epic off-road trailers that are highly capable yet extremely comfortable, too. With innovative features like PVC storage that’s lightweight and doesn’t rot, to a comfortable cabin with a spacious bed to relax, to off-road capabilities that allow you to get way off the grid, the XTR-10 is a fantastic option for your adventures.
Having met the Denali Campers team, I can tell you that these folks put their money where their mouth is. They are experienced campers and overlanders, and they understand what works and doesn’t work in off-grid situations. That expertise shines through in the design, build quality, materials, and functionality of the XTR-10.
So, yeah, my Denali Campers review couldn’t be more positive. Don’t take my word for it, though. Head over to the Denali Campers website to learn more!
