I am not a huge fan of overland campers, vans, or camper extensions for pickup beds. That’s not because I don’t like having comfort when in the bush, but purely because the majority of products available do not offer the off-road capability I need from a vehicle.
A van can only go so far, no matter what you do to it, and the same is true for a pickup with half a ton of weight mounted in the bed.
So, as far as I am aware, there hasn’t been a solution that combines the off-road abilities of a built 4WD with the comfort of your own house – until now.
Adrenalin Industries have managed to create something that for the price of an apartment won’t just keep you and your family warm and safe but can also take you around the world through unimaginable conditions.
How have they done that? Well, they’ve basically taken a military truck that is now sold for civilian use and strapped a small apartment at the back. The result? An apartment that can pretty much drive through whatever you throw at it.
What Exactly is This Adrenalin Industries Rig Based On?
The truck itself is a BAE, these trucks used to be built for the government for years and when the contract ran out the company decided to build some civilian versions with all the remaining parts. These are a limited number of trucks and Adrenalin Industries have bought the last five. So, if you want one, you better hurry up.
The main difference between the military and civilian versions is the engine where instead of a Caterpillar unit you will get a 6.7L Cummins which is a bit more refined and economical.
The civilian versions also come with sound deadening and factory A/C; however, the guys at Adrenalin Industries have added even more sound deadening to get the noise levels down to normal because trucks like these are loud inside.
The top speed is 75mph, but the optimal speed is at 65 where it will get about 8 mpg. If you stick to 55mph you may be able to get better than 8 mpg. So, I wouldn’t call this a Prius rival but come on, just look at it.
The fuel tank is massive so expect to drive about 300 miles before needing to refuel. Of course, this is a military truck; therefore, if you need to add a secondary tank it will be easy to do so.
What Do I Get From This Adrenalin Industries Truck?
On the outside, you will find plenty of storage, a shower, and a camp chef for all your outdoor BBQs.
On the inside, there is a double bed that can also tilt upwards to make movie watching easier or to level your sleep when on uneven ground.
The roof is lined with solar panels and because there are plenty of them up there you can run everything on solar power, even the A/C. The truck also has some massive batteries that in the middle of winter with no sun and the truck constantly switched off would last you for 2 days.
An indoor shower and toilet are also available for those cold winter days where getting outside to get cleaned up is the last thing you want!
The Adrenalin Industries camper also incorporates a diesel heater, electric stove, dining table, and seats that fold into a second bed. So, no matter the weather or quantity of friends you happen to have with you this insane camper has you covered!
Adrenalin industries have made one of the few campers I would buy and that’s because this machine can go places few vehicles can. Granted, there will be some size issues sometimes, but we can’t have it all.
This insane machine is sold for $325000 and in my opinion, it is worth every penny. Honestly, I thought it was going to be closer to half a million.
Sadly, I don’t even have enough money to buy one of its wheels; so, for now, a swag will do for me. But if you can somehow find the cash, go ahead and buy it!
