4 Things to Know About the Kruger Bush Campers Springbok

These days, compact, rugged camping trailers are a dime a dozen. Many are perfectly fine. Some fail hard. But others rise to the top because they are built better and stronger, have more amenities and features, and give you, the end-user, a much better camping experience.

As you might’ve guessed, the Springbok by Kruger Bush Campers is one of the trailers that stands tall in a sea of options…

The question is, why is the Springbok so impressive? Well, there are plenty of answers to that question, but I’ve narrowed it down to four for the sake of time and space. Let’s dive in and learn more about this incredible off-road teardrop trailer!

The Kruger Bush Campers Springbok Has a Well-Appointed Interior

Let’s head inside the Springbok, because, for me, it’s the most surprising element of this trailer…

For starters, the interior area is surprisingly spacious, given that this is a compact off-road teardrop. In fact, there is more than 300 cubic feet of interior space due in large part to the pop-up roof that extends the interior headroom to 10.5 feet at its peak. Nice!

With all that space comes a lot of luxury. Up front is a U-shaped dinette where you and your adventure buddies can have a seat and relax after a fun day of exploring. The interior also boasts a floor-mounted table for dining or playing games while you enjoy the trailer’s entertainment system.

Need to store your clothes or other items? No problem! The rear of the interior area has plenty of cupboards for storage.

The pop-top roof I mentioned a moment ago allows for numerous other goodies, too. There is a 6.75-foot-long bed that’s 3.75-feet wide that’s ideal for racking out for a comfortable night’s sleep. Better still, there’s an even larger bed below – the sofa area converts into a bed that’s 6.8 feet long and nearly 5 feet wide. Many teardrop trailers do well to have one bed, but Kruger Bush Campers gives you two. That’s just one of many reasons the Springbok is on my list of the best off-road teardrop trailers of 2024!

You Can Bring the Kitchen Sink When You Camp in the Springbok

While it isn’t unusual for teardrop trailers like this to have a galley, it is a bit unusual to have a galley that’s so well-appointed.

On the one hand, you get a 78-liter fridge to keep your food and drinks cool, two stoves to cook meals, and lots of storage space for your kitchen essentials. On the other hand, you also get a sink with cold and hot water to wash up after dinner.

But there’s more! The Springbok’s kitchen is stainless steel, so it’s highly durable and easy to clean. No one wants to spend their evenings at camp cleaning the galley, and you won’t have to with this setup!

Kruger Bush Campers Includes a Variety of Appliances in the Springbok

Though having an onboard fridge is nice, it certainly isn’t the only appliance you get with the Kruger Bush Campers Springbok

Not only does this trailer have a diesel heater to keep you warm during those fall and winter camping trips, but it also has an onboard air conditioner to keep the cabin cool when you’re camping in the dead of summer. With this complete climate control system, there is no excuse not to go camping, even if it’s bitterly cold or miserably hot.

Additionally, the Springbok features a 2000-watt inverter paired with two 100ah deep-cycle batteries to power all the trailer’s systems and components. There’s a 30-amp DC charger, too, so the trailer’s batteries can be charged via solar or your vehicle’s alternator while you drive.

The list of gadgets doesn’t end there, though. Kruger Bush Campers has also incorporated an insulated plastic freshwater tank with roughly 53 gallons of capacity, so you’re sure to have plenty of water (which won’t freeze, thanks to the insulation) on your adventures. You can use that water in the galley to wash dishes or to clean yourself up in the outdoor shower after hiking, biking, or other outdoor adventures.

The Springbok is Purpose-Built for Off-Road Travel

If you’re like me and enjoy getting off-grid for your camping adventures, the Kruger Bush Campers Springbok can certainly accommodate you! The trailer is built on a one-piece welded chassis that’s fully hot-dip galvanized for added durability. Kruger Bush Campers takes it a step further, though, by adding a 3mm thick layer of tar paint.

The chassis is mated to aluminum alloy wheels wrapped in 265/75 R16 tires that give you the traction needed to make it up and over obstacles and through difficult trails. The heavy-duty two-inch independent suspension (which features dual shock absorbers) helps in that department, too.

The chassis is just part of the equation, though. The Springbok’s body was also made to handle the rough stuff…

The body is aluminum alloy, so it’s both strong and lightweight. But Kruger Bush Campers has incorporated a secret weapon – the aluminum body is a two-layer panel system that enhances the trailer’s strength. Moreover, these panels have insulation inside, making the cabin all the more comfortable, even when the weather outside isn’t.

In other words, this trailer has the strength, durability, and performance you need for your off-grid adventures. More to the point, the Springbok is a fine example of Kruger Bush Campers’ demand that their trailers are second to none on the market!

Inspired by African Adventures, Backed by a U.S. Company

When you think of rough off-road adventures, you might think of classic African safaris with days on end of exploring the beauty of the continent. Africa has many unforgiving places, so having a trailer that can perform well in adverse weather and road conditions is a must. It was in this environment where the Springbok was born.

But adventurers across the Atlantic aren’t the only ones who can enjoy the spoils of a trailer like this. Now, Kruger Bush Campers are available here in the U.S. in the heart of the south in Savannah, Georgia. Whether you want an off-road teardrop like the Springbok, a larger travel-trailer-style rig with a pop-top roof like the Kudu, or something else, Kruger Bush Campers have you covered!
