Adaptability at Its Best: The Trail Trailer Mod Trailer is the Flexible Platform You Need for Outdoor Adventures

The great thing about outdoor adventures is that no two trips are alike. My adventure this weekend might be to the beach for camping, bonfires, and surfing. Your adventure the following weekend might be to the mountains for a few days of off-grid camping. Someone else’s adventure might be a road trip to explore their favorite national park.

So, you’d need three different trailers for these three trips, right? WRONG! The Trail Trailer Mod Trailer is an adaptable platform that can conform to every person’s overlanding, camping, and adventuring needs.

I was introduced to this trailer for the first time earlier this year at Overland West, and I was so impressed that I included it on my list of the best expedition trailers of 2024. It’s that good! Its standout feature, of course, is its adaptability for different uses.

What does that mean, though?

Let’s find out!

Let’s say you need a few more amenities, like enclosed storage space for your gear. Trail Trailer delivers with its gear tub…

This all-steel powder-coated tub is purpose-built for the rough stuff. Keep your gear inside and out of the elements while also using its fold-down tailgate as a food prep area or workspace. What’s more, the tub’s diamond plate anti-skid lid is ready to rock if you need something to stand on or if you need a stable surface in inclement weather.

Whether you’re hauling your tent, sleeping bags, and other camping gear, firewood for your beach bonfire, or something in between, the gear tub is the perfect mod for expanding the functionality of this trailer.

You can also add a short or tall tower to the Mod PV trailer. On the one hand, a short tower mounted on top of the gear tub (as shown above) gives you the best of both worlds – enclosed storage plus a place to carry accessories like recovery gear or anchoring your rooftop tent or awning.

On the other hand, a tall tower mounted directly to the trailer’s flatbed is ideal if you have large or bulky items to transport. Slide your kayaks or surfboards under the tower and strap them down for the ride while also having the ability to anchor your tent, awnings, recovery gear, and so forth.

Likewise, each trailer discussed above comes available with stand-on fenders, rock LEDS, and LEDs for turn signals, running lights, and brake lights. Use the tongue tray for hauling additional gear, the three-channel floor for mounting accessories, and, if you opt for the gear tub, use the integrated lock to keep your gear safe.

Add large or small molle panels or a tire carrier to the mix, an optional fresh water tank and pump, or features like a 2-inch hitch receiver and stabilizer jacks, and you have the makings of a well-outfitted trailer to pull with your full-size vehicle!

Trail Trailer isn’t just about adaptability and providing options for all sorts of outdoor adventures. Instead, Trail Trailer is all about putting their money where their mouth is.

These trailers weren’t designed to be modular by happenstance. The Trail Trailer team is composed of avid outdoor enthusiasts who wanted to devise a trailer that helps you explore more without bogging you down with weighty accessories you don’t want or need. Heck, they use these trailers themselves, so they know first-hand how their designs work in the field.

So, if you’re on the hunt for a trailer that is adaptable, impeccably designed, and built to last, it’s hard to beat Trail Trailer. As I said, I was really, really impressed with these trailers at Overland West. I have a hunch you’ll be equally as impressed. Check out Trail Trailer today!
