MORRFlate TenSix Pro Review

One of the laws of off-roading is that, at some point, you’ll need to air down your tires. Then, of course, you’ll have to air them back up again.

In the past, the downer with that process is that you had to do so one tire at a time – a process that would easily take 25-30 minutes for my truck and trailer. I don’t know about you, but airing up tires is about as fun as watching paint dry, so I had to make a change for the better.

I initially incorporated the MORRFlate TenSix 12V off-road air compressor into my kit, and as I discuss in my review of that product, it allowed me to change the tire pressure in all four truck tires and the two tires on my trailer simultaneously. Talk about a God-send!

But then MORRFlate did themselves one better and released the TenSix Pro, which retains all the goodies of its predecessor (including the awesome neon green coloring) and adds a very interesting new feature that makes airing up multiple tires even more streamlined. Intrigued? You should be, because this thing is a game-changer. Let’s dive into it!

MORRFlate TenSix Pro Specs

morrflate tensix pro front

The MORRFlate TenSix Pro keeps the small form factor of its predecessor – 14” x 7” x 9″ – so it’s every bit as small, compact, and portable. As we all know, space is one of the most important commodities when you’re overlanding and off-roading, so the fact that this unit is so compact is a definite bonus.

I also appreciate how the MORRFlate TenSix Pro can be mounted in any direction or orientation. Now, full disclosure: I don’t have the Pro mounted to my truck. But if that’s something I want to do in the future, having the flexibility of mounting it in just about any way that fits my truck is a nice feature.

Now, the TenSix Pro puts out 10.6 CFM at 0 PSI and 6.5 CFM at 30 PSI. As I’ll discuss a little later, these numbers are important because, unlike other air compressors, the MORRFlate TenSix Pro can actually use all that air movement. Hint…the secret is in using multiple air hoses to work on multiple tires at once…

This is a 12V unit with 90 amps of peak power (roughly 50 amps while running), and it has a 50 percent duty cycle, meaning you get 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off in a 30-minute span.

The MORRFlate TenSix Pro is also relatively quiet for a high-powered air compressor. The noise reading at about a foot away is 70-75 decibels and gets quieter the further away you get.

MORRFlate TenSix Pro Features

MORRFlate TenSix Pro features

As far as features go, the MORRFlate TenSix Pro allows you to air up four 35-inch tires from 10 psi to 40 psi in roughly 6.5 minutes when using the MORRFlate Quad Kit. Not bad, right?

You get a wide variety of PSI levels, too. When using manual mode, the TenSix Pro gives you a range of 1-150 PSI. In auto mode, which I’ll discuss more in a moment, you can inflate your tires from 10-120 PSI.

The Pro comes with a number of accessories, too – a six-foot compressor hose, a six-foot electrical cord with high-amperage alligator clips, and a nice carrying bag to carry it all. The bag even has pockets to hold smaller accessories. And with the same neon green color as the regular TenSix, you get an eye-catching rig that minimizes tripping hazards when you’re on the trail airing up your tires.

MORRFlate TenSix Pro Automatic Inflation Feature

As I alluded to earlier, the MORRFlate TenSix Pro adds a new feature to the mix – automatic inflation.

As you can see above, the unit has a front-facing display where you can easily see the PSI. Using the plus and minus buttons on the left, you simply dial in the desired PSI, hit the Go button on the bottom-right of the display, and let the TenSix Pro do its thing.

This is an ideal setup for those situations when you’ve aired down and need to reinflate your tires but don’t want to do so manually or with a single-hose setup. Not only does the MORRFlate TenSix Pro streamline this process and make it faster, but it also unshackles you from the situation…

Just set it, forget it, and let the TenSix Pro do its thing while you attend to other important tasks like checking your rig for damage, checking fluids, washing the mud off the windshield, and so forth. Or, if you’ve already done all those things, just have a seat and talk shop with your off-roading buddies!

MORRFlate MegaQuad Hose Kit

MORRFlate offers a four-hose kit, which I mentioned earlier, that’s great for trucks and SUVs for off-road travel, and cars, RVs, travel trailers, and other on-road vehicles. But what if you have a setup like mine with a truck and a trailer?

MORRFlate has you covered with its MegaQuad Hose Kit. This kit allows you to use the TenSix Pro to air up to six tires at the same time. This is hugely convenient, but it also helps reduce the stress on the TenSix Pro because it’s able to move its huge amount of air power to multiple tires, as opposed to working hard to push air through one or two valve stems, which typically only allow two CFM or less.

Additionally, the MegaQuad Kit allows you to check the PSI of all your tires from one spot, so there’s no more hunching over to check PSI over and over and over again for all your tires. Nice!

This particular version fits vehicles with up to a 200-inch wheelbase, assuming the compressor is mounted in the middle of one of the bumpers. But, hey, MORRFlate has your back if you need additional hose length with available hose extensions.

Testing the MORRFlate TenSix Pro

As you can see in my video above, I put the TenSix Pro to the test with excellent results. As you’d expect from MORRFlate, this unit is fast, easy to use, and quiet.

To test the TenSix Pro, I used it to manually air down my tires to about 9 PSI. Then, using the controls on the front of the unit, I dialed in 41 PSI, hit the Go button, and off it went. It took 7 minutes, 46 seconds to get the job done, which is waaaaay better than the 25-30 minutes I used to take to air my tires back up.

You can see the full process and get all my thoughts on this air compressor in the video above, but I do want to reiterate this point – for me, this is the best portable air compressor on the market today.

Now, this isn’t a statement I’m making because of some sort of loyalty or fealty to MORRFlate. My loyalty is to you – the consumer looking for a high-quality, reliable compressor. I’ve tested tons of compressors over the years, and none have achieved this level of speediness or functionality!

Head over to MORRFlate today if you’re ready to add one of these bad boys to your overlanding or off-roading rig!
