If you’ve been kicking around 4WDTalk for any amount of time, you’ve probably run across an article or two about SNO Trailers. Years ago, I had the opportunity to meet the SNO Trailers team, and I was left more than impressed with their knowledge of the outdoors and their commitment to building some of the best trailers on the market.
Well, since then, SNO Trailers has joined forces with Remington – yes, that Remington – to create the ultimate line of hunting trailers based on the SNO Trailers platforms. The Remington R-20 is built on the SNO Trailers Baja, and juiced up a bit to cater to hunters.
The question is, what does the R-20 bring to the table for overlanding, hunting, and other outdoor adventures? Let’s find out!

The Remington R-20 is Perfectly Sized for Hunting
Often, hunting requires that you get way off-grid. Doing so necessitates a capable tow vehicle and a trailer that can navigate narrow, difficult trails. The Remington R-20 is one such trailer!
At less than 5 feet high, about 5.5 feet wide, and just over 10 feet long, the R-20 is a perfect trailer for getting to your favorite hunting grounds. Helping matters is that it weighs just 800 pounds dry, which makes it easily towable with a side-by-side.
But, don’t think that you can’t load this bad boy up with gear…it has a 2,200-pound suspension load, so you can bring all your guns, ammo, food, water, and other necessities for your trip. And since a two-person rooftop tent comes standard, you and a buddy can load up and head out!
You’ll Find Storage Galore in the Remington R-20
When you head out for a weekend hunting trip, you need space to store everything from clothing to water to food to your weapons. SNO Trailers and Remington thought of all of these things when they designed the R-20, because it comes with storage in every corner of the trailer.
For example, there’s a 10-gallon water tank underneath so you have water on the go for cooking and cleaning up. There are also two five-pound propane tank holders, so you can bring along fuel to cook your meals.
The standard R-20 also comes with a wide-body kit featuring two side boxes, each of which have two internal drawers, an internal divider, and two stainless steel drop-down shelves. Each box also has two USB ports and Switch-Pros panels for good measure.
All the electronics are stored in the nosebox, which offers additional room for gear you frequently need. This is a great spot for recovery gear or other items that might be dirty or wet that you don’t want inside your tow vehicle or inside one of the trailer’s other storage areas.
Of course, on Top is a SNORAC that provides storage space above the trailer and below the rooftop tent. Add waterproof storage boxes to this area so you can maximize the trailer’s storage space without worrying about the elements wreaking havoc on the contents.
Optional storage features run the gamut from Rotopax mounts to a handgun vault to a 54-inch long rifle vault. You can also add a fridge/freezer to the mix to give you chilled food storage. Like I said, this trailer has all the storage (and the types of storage) you need for an epic hunting trip!
Go Off-Grid for Days With a Robust Electrical System
The electronics in the Remington R-20 are another impressive feature that’s worth exploring in detail. On the one hand, the base of the system is a Renogy 100ah AGM battery that offers plenty of juice for lighting, charging devices, and so forth. On the other hand, SNO Trailers has implemented additional accessories that make the electrical system super efficient and easy to use. These items include the following:
- A Renogy battery monitor, waterproof solar charge controller, and a switch panel
- A solar plug
- Noco Genius battery charger
- On/of battery switch
- Charging ports in both side boxes and inside the rear panel
SNO Trailers also gives you the option of adding exterior LED lighting to the trailer–which comes in handy for those late nights around camp. A second Renogy 100ah battery can also be added to the mix to give you twice the power for your hunting trips. Nice!
The Remington R-20 Has a Fully Featured Kitchen
On the passenger’s side of the Remington R-20, you’ll find a stainless steel kitchen pull-out with a Camp Chef stove that’s ready for your favorite campsite dinner recipes. Above the pullout is a fixed storage compartment where you can keep cooking utensils and non-perishable food items within easy reach.
Directly behind the kitchen pullout is the fold-down door for the side box, which gives you prep space for meals. Best of all, the height of the fold-down door is ideal because you don’t have to stoop or bend down to get your cooking tasks done.
At the rear of the trailer is a large compartment with a slide pullout. On the pullout is a Remington-branded 70-liter cooler that gives you all the space you need for food and drinks for several days out on the hunt. In other words, all you need to bring are your cooking utensils and food, and the Remington R-20 will handle the rest!
This Trailer is Purpose-Built for Off-Road Travel
It’s one thing for a trailer to have a bunch of features that you can use at camp. It’s another thing for the trailer to have the off-road pedigree to get to camp in the first place! The Remington R-20 certainly has the off-road capabilities required for off-grid camping.
For example, the trailer has a Timbren suspension, a Max Coupler, and premium 17-inch Method wheels with all-terrain tires that help navigate tough trails. And you don’t have to worry about the damaging effects of water and mud because this trailer comes with a powder-coated steel frame with a proprietary anti-rust base coating.
Moreover, the trailer has an aluminum body, so not only is it lightweight, but it’s also inherently durable–just what you want for a trailer meant to handle the rough stuff!
This combination of off-road capabilities, plentiful storage, robust electronics, and a well-appointed kitchen makes the Remington R-20 a fantastic choice for your hunting adventures. Best of all, I’ve only scratched the surface of what this trailer brings to the table!
